About Us
Stewart
Stewart read Civil Engineering at Southampton University before joining the Army, where he spent four fabulous years with the Queen’s Gurkha Engineers tavelling the world. Leaving as a Captain, he went back to school to undertake an MBA, upon which he spent a number of years consulting to a range of blue chip companies in London and New York as a specialist in eBusiness Strategy.
Michelle
Michelle read Law, again at Southampton University, and joined ICI for a year as a Sales and Marketing Manager for the Far East. She then attended Bar School in London, and after completion she joined Chambers in 9-12 Bell Yard. She practised there for 6 years where she specialised in Crime. She continues to be a door tenant at 9-12 Bell Yard.
Throughout this time Stewart & Michelle have been serial house ‘doer uppers’, completely renovating three houses in London and South East England.
...and then some
Two became three with the arrival of Harry in 2001, prompting a revision of life’s priorities. And so the project that was to become Les Roches was born. Somewhere along the line we apparently had both time and energy for two more children, Emily and Isabelle, who keep Harry on his toes.
We have now started another business - Classic French Homes - selling prestigous properties in the Dordogne and neighbouring departments.
Our approach
We live in a similarly old stone house on the opposite side of the lane. We respect your privacy at all times, but are on hand to help should you wish. We have never been known to decline the suggestion of a glass of wine - either at your place or ours - and will happily chat about the area. Stewart is keen on all outdoor pursuits, whilst Michelle is the duty expert on all things gastronomic, shopping or restaurant-orientated.
