We are delighted to partner with Chateau La Colline to offer 'house wine'. We maintain a stock of Charles' excellent wines available at 'direct from chai' prices as an add-on service - ideal for those early days following arrival, or for the connoisseur who is happy for us to have done the searching and transportation!
For those keen to learn about La Colline, and about the wider art of wine-production, we are able to arrange visits to La Colline where Charles will entertain you with his informative tours and uniquely eccentric style. Alternatively, go on an organised trip with Divine Tours that will take in three vineyards and lunch.

It specialises in, and has established its reputation around the globe, for the quality of its Merlot and Semillon based wines. Dedicated to development of quality, affordable, and reliable wines that bring happiness and pleasure to customers, it is the producer of choice for excellent restaurants around the world, including L'Imparfait - slightly closer to home! |
About Charles Martin
Charles is an obsessional winegrower who takes his wine making to excessive extremes out of his passion for wine. He learnt his wine making around the world starting in the Napa Valley then to Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa before finally arriving in France. This passionate, perfectionist pioneer has introduced innovations to the Bergerac wine region which are now adopted by many other vignerons and have contributed to the quality revolution of Bergerac wines, such as the use of inert gases to protect the wines from oxidation, mechanical leaf plucking, integral grassing down of the vines, a system of very high density plantations of vines at 8000 vines per hectare. The latest development is the fermentation of the Merlot grape variety in small swimming pools. Thank goodness he is better at making wine than he is riding a bicycle! |
