Kids at Les Roches

Having three young children ourselves we know how important it is to cater for children when on a family holiday - if the kids don't have a good holiday, it is unlikely you will! Les Roches is child-friendly and, we hope, will suit kids of all ages.

Accommodation

Bedrooms 3 and 4 are ideally suited for children of all ages. Both rooms have a cosy feel with pine and painted furniture. Both rooms are twins with each having an ensuite sit-tub and shower- ideal baths for small children. These rooms have plenty of space to put our pine cots in if required.

The pool

With children, safety is of the utmost importance when it comes to the pool. Our pool fully complies with recent French legislation. It is completely enclosed by wall and rocks, with a self-closing lockable gate. For fun, the pool has roman steps, ideal for small children building up their confidence and older children for lying reading books. There is also a outside shower area that doubles as a paddling pool for the tiny children. We always make sure there are inflatable toys for all ages. We supply sun parasols to make sure there is shade when needed.

The pool-side shower doubles up as a kids paddling pool. The gates are self-closing and self-locking - ie child-proof, and meet AFNOR standards.

The play area

As well as a grassed area for children to run, there is a play area on the same level as the pool and BBQ area. It has a single swing, a double swing, slide and sandpit. We also have numerous outdoor family toys such as bat and ball, badminton, footballs, swingball, and boules.

The kids play area is ideally positioned to be visible from roof-terrace, BBQ area, pool and 'Picnic Mount'. Kids swings, slide and sand-pit - it will keep them entertained for hours!

Indoor toys

For the younger children we always provide a toy box with a range of books and toys to keep them amused. We also have a range of board games for adults and children alike. A must for children of all ages is our video library. As well as having Sky with the essential CBeebies and CBBC for early morning or rainy day viewing, we have a variety of videos to suit. We also supply a DVD player for those who wish to bring their own DVD selection.

Bikes

New for 2006, we are supplying new mountain bikes free of charge. With the bikes will be available a bike trailer that seats two small children and a bike seat that takes one child.

Fonroque village

The valley in which we are located is also kid-friendly, with plenty to explore and yet safe and sheltered.

Fonroque caves - great for kids to go and explore, are closeby. The source of 'Le Touron' eminates from the caves and dills several ponds at the head of the valley.

We also have available a kiddies pack, that includes items such as cots, baby monitors, stair gates, high chairs, children's toys etc. Please enquire for further details.
